All by myself
I was working alone and becoming very frustrated. Had it not been for this tool I would have never finished the chore. I am a musician in the band Little Feat. Thanks Don.

Great tool for the job.
Worked better than I hoped for. Made the task quick and easy. The shipping was fast but the $25.00 was too high $15.00 would have been fair.

Easy to use no matter what age.
I bought this tool for my father. He is a 75 year old man who decided to take on the task of repairing 40 sling chairs at his condo complex. He could not thank me enough, the tool worked like a charm. He had tried different tools, like the Irwin clamp/spreader tool you can buy at the local Home Depot. Even though it was suppose to take up to 600 lbs of pressure, the spreader bar kept bending. This is must have tool for DIY patio chair repair. FYI: Thank you for the instructional video on your website and the quick delivery of the product.

WOW! Great tool, this spreader bar works.
This tool actually works for stretching the backs of sling chairs. I first tried a 36 inch clamp/stretcher tool, with the end caps reversed. This tool was too weak and did not work. This spreader tool really works. Thanks for including the big clamps, they really help. I was able to finish the sling chair project. The project looks professional --- Thanks

Great Tool
I tried to do it without the tool and then had to buy it, finished up the chair right away. Thank you very much. The only problem I am having with the next chair is that the screws wont catch the thread and wont come out. Still trying to work thru it..

Spreader Bar is a life saver
I called to order my spreader bar on Friday after failing to find a method to stretch the bar and fabric sufficiently to complete installation of the replacement slings. My only suggestion would be to increase the length of the square tubing which the threaded rod screws into and out of to force the arms open. That would increase the strength of the spreader bar, make it easier to use and eliminate some tense moments when it appears the bar may come flying out and damage the sling or the users head.

satisfied
The spreader tool was received in a timely manner, and I was eager to work with it. It took me a little effort keep the tool in place, even with the clamps, to stretch the material sufficiently to insert the spreader bars on the chairs, but I managed. I was a little apprehensive when it looked like the bolts were so far out of the center tool bar that they looked bent and might break out, but they held. i would only like to offer a suggestion to the manufacturer that the center bar be made about 2 inches longer, so that most of each side bolt remains inside the bar. This would improve the stability of the product and possibly increase the stretching capacity. However, thanks to this tool, I now have successfully replaced the the worn-out slings on five patio chairs, and am happy with the result.
